About Allison

Reynolds was instrumental in the group opening SPACE, a social enterprise not for profit art gallery in Coonabarabran that has established itself as a cultural tourism drawcard for the area. In the last few years Allison has been concentrating more on producing art, rather than her role as an arts worker, though she still acts as an Arts Advisor for Accessibility Arts and a Peer Assessor for the Australia Council for the Arts.

Allison’s art revolves around her passions for social justice issues, such as disability rights and the environment. Her piece ‘Pilliga’s Progress’, a commentary on the incursion of coal seam gas mining into the Pilliga, won 2nd prize at the 2016 Outback Archies.
This year Allison plans to exhibit new works under the banner ‘Ableism’ and release a digital graphic novel ‘Dissolution’ she is writing in collaboration with digital artist Darren Blanch.

Working in the period of time before Solarpunk dreams could be achieved, Allison will create a work that explores the sliver of time where no matter what we do and have done, things will get worse before they get better, where resiliency of the regions will be tested again and again.
